TonMobile eSIM on Telegram: Plans, Setup and Travel Checklist
A practical guide to choosing a TonMobile travel eSIM, checking your phone and setting up mobile data before your next trip.

TonMobile lets you choose a travel eSIM through Telegram, then install it on a compatible phone for mobile internet abroad. Start with TonMobile eSIM, select your destination and compare the data allowance with the length of your trip.
The useful distinction is between buying a plan, installing the eSIM and connecting in the destination. Those are separate steps. This guide covers what to check at each stage, with a practical example from TonMobile's public shop.
What does TonMobile eSIM include?
A TonMobile eSIM provides mobile data. It does not include a phone number for regular calls or SMS. You can use internet-based services such as Telegram when the connection is active, but buying the eSIM does not give you a new number for account verification.
Coverage follows the country or region you buy. A single-country plan is not automatically valid in the next country on your itinerary. The shop has Countries, Regions and Global tabs, so compare the coverage list before deciding.
These details come from TonMobile's before-you-use guide. This article checks the public shop and setup documentation; it is not a network-speed or coverage test.
Check your phone before choosing a plan
Do not rely on the model name alone. TonMobile's compatibility guide explains that the market where a phone was sold and carrier restrictions can affect eSIM support.
Check the exact model and regional variant, and confirm that it can install an eSIM from another provider. If you are unsure, use the device guides in the help centre or ask support before paying.
Check | What to look for | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
Your phone | eSIM support for the exact device and carrier configuration | A familiar model name is not enough |
Your route | Every country you will visit | One country's plan does not cover an entire itinerary |
Your stay | Package validity and its activation conditions | The activation window and usable days are different |
Your usage | Data allowance, price and any plan-specific limits | Choose around your needs, not just the largest discount |
Your existing SIM | Which line will provide mobile data | Keep control of your home carrier's roaming use |
How to choose a TonMobile plan
Open TonMobile in Telegram and find your destination. Use a country plan for one destination, or inspect the included countries under Regions or Global for a longer route.
For a concrete example, the public Turkey shop checked on October 19, 2026 showed a Standard plan with 1 GB for 7 days at $3.50, alongside 3 GB for 30 days at $5.90. These are displayed shop prices, not a promise about your final checkout or future pricing.
The same screen said activation within 180 days. That does not make the 7-day package last 180 days: one is the activation window, the other is the package duration. Read the selected plan's exact start conditions before purchase.
For a short trip, compare the smaller package with your likely use of maps, messaging and browsing. For longer stays or heavier use, compare larger allowances and their validity. If you choose an Unlimited option, read its specific conditions rather than assuming every plan has identical speed or usage rules.

Install the eSIM, then select it for mobile data
Install while you have a stable internet connection. In TonMobile, open My eSIM or My eSIMs, choose the purchased plan and follow its installation instructions.
On Android, TonMobile's installation guide describes using the installation QR code. Depending on the device, you can load it from an image or display it on another screen to scan. Manual installation is also documented if that is more convenient.
Once you are in the covered destination, select the travel eSIM as the line for mobile data:
- iPhone: select the eSIM for cellular data, turn off Cellular Data Switching if your primary line stays enabled, and enable Data Roaming on the travel eSIM.
- Android: select the eSIM for mobile data and enable roaming for that eSIM. Settings names vary by device. TonMobile also advises disconnecting the main line to avoid home-carrier roaming charges.
Follow the iPhone activation instructions or the Android guide for your device. Be careful to change the travel eSIM's settings, rather than accidentally enabling data roaming on your home line.
Need more data? Keep the installed eSIM
In My eSIM, select the existing plan and look for Top Up. TonMobile's top-up guide says the added package activates after the previous package's data is used up. A device restart may be needed to refresh the connection.
Do not delete the eSIM as a routine troubleshooting step. Some plans cannot be installed again after deletion. Keep the profile installed when topping up, and contact support before moving it to another phone.
If you cannot connect, first confirm the destination is covered, the eSIM is selected for mobile data and its roaming setting is on. Then use the TonMobile help centre for the relevant device instructions.
